Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse has been a favorite of athletes, celebrities, and politicians for decades. The restaurant’s atmosphere is over-the-top, with sports paraphernalia and a Sousaphone chandelier. The menu is unique and the service is excellent. The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., but closed on Sundays.
The Grandview Cafe is located nearby. The speakeasy-style decor of the new location brings a 1920s vibe to the restaurant. Fortunately, the pricing is more affordable than at other downtown Cincinnati restaurants. Depending on the dish, you can expect to spend between $10 and $20 for dinner. As with most Cincinnati restaurants, Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse is known for its upscale dining and live music.
The philosophy of Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse started in his childhood kitchens on the Jersey shore. He went to Cornell University and a few years later worked in a hotel for the Winegardner and Hammons Holiday Inn near Fountain Square. Eventually, he opened his first steakhouse, The Precinct, in 1981. In a whirlwind of activity, he developed his own culinary perspective and expanded his business into six other locations.
Today, the steakhouse is a sophisticated Cincinnati destination. Its upscale ambiance, impeccable service, and fine wines make it one of the nation’s top steakhouses. Located at the heart of the city, Jeff Ruby’s has been in business since 1982. During the past few decades, the company has expanded across three states. Founded by two brothers, the family is now in seven locations.
